Jewelry Care

Thank you for choosing Moon Kissed Botanica. A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to keep your pieces shining for years.

Cleaning & daily care

  • Avoid contact with perfume, lotion, hairspray, and household chemicals — apply those first, then put on your jewelry.

  • Take off jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, or heavy cleaning. Chlorine, sweat, and saltwater accelerate wear.

  • Wipe after wear: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe oils and dirt off metal and gemstones.

Material-specific tips

  • 14k/18k gold & gold-filled: Wipe with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, soak 5–10 minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

  • Sterling silver: Store in an airtight bag to slow tarnish. Clean with a silver polishing cloth or soak briefly in warm soapy water and dry. Avoid harsh polishes on oxidized finishes.

  • Gold plated: Be gentle — avoid soaking and harsh polishes. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately.

  • Gemstones (e.g., quartz, garnet, carnelian): Most semi-precious stones tolerate mild soapy water. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for porous or treated stones. If stone is glued, avoid long soaks.

  • Pearls & organic materials: Wipe with a soft damp cloth only. Avoid chemicals and prolonged water exposure.

Storage

  • Store pieces separately in soft pouches or compartments to prevent scratches and tangles.

  • Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sun and humidity.
